Ron began his career in the moving industry in 1967 when he was just 19 years old, working as a mover, packer, driver and dispatcher. He joined the Bertsch team, in 1973, as a mover and worked his way up to office clerk where he was eventually promoted to dispatcher and again to Vice President. In 2004, Ron took over ownership of the company after the previous owner lost his battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. Ron has been a resident of Oregon for over 40 years and can often be found volunteering with beach clean-up crews, escorting the Governor to various parades, rodeos and fairs as a member of the Oregon Mounted Governor’s Guard or lending a helping hand to his friends and neighbors. The level of experience and professionalism Ron brings to the company is matched only by his kindness and sense of community and we are fortunate to have him at the head of the table.
Vice President/ Sales Manager
Dakon has a unique perspective of the moving industry as he spent much of his childhood in the office and warehouse with his father. He officially joined the Bertsch team in 1984, working part-time in the warehouse, when he was just 14 years old. At 15 years of age, Dakon moved to the field and at 16 was promoted to part-time local driver. In 1990, after finishing high school and college, Dakon was hired on as a full-time local driver and job supervisor and worked that position until 1994 when he was promoted to Sales and, eventually, Sales Manager. In 2005, after 15 years of field and sales experience, Dakon was promoted to his current position as Vice President. Dakon enjoys an active lifestyle, has played competitive softball for over 20 years and coaches his twin daughter’s youth basketball team. This active and competitive nature is also present in Dakon’s work ethic as he is known to work tirelessly, often into the late evening hours, to provide our customers with the best move at the best price.

Anna joined the Bertsch team in 1995 as a secretary and, over the years, worked her way up the ranks to Local and Interstate Dispatcher and Salem Office Manager. In 2010, Anna was recognized in Allied Van Lines’ Better Together Program after being nominated by Pat Waters of North Coast Moving who stated, “Anna has an outstanding attitude every time I speak with her regarding origin work, hauling and assisting those challenging shipments we face in the peak months. She has assisted over and beyond in scheduling and working with North Coast on short hauls. A call from Anna is always upbeat and positive in a teamwork manner.” Anna’s vast knowledge and experience in the moving industry has helped our company grow to where it is today and has made her a valuable asset to the Bertsch team
Ariel moved to Oregon, from Texas in 2006, (a move serviced by Allied Van Lines!) and joined the Bertsch team a month later. There are few administrative duties that Ariel hasn’t tackled during her time at Bertsch making her a valuable company resource. If the department in question is Claims, Collections, Human Resources, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Taxes, Advertisement or Tech Support – Ariel has it covered.
Administrative Assistant/ Eugene & Corvallis Areas Customer Support
Kam, the newest edition to the Bertsch family, joined the team as an Administrative Assistant in August 2012 after relocating to Oregon from Southern California. Although she came onboard with no specific industry experience, she brought 20 years of valuable administrative and customer service experience and has also proven to be a fast learner. Providing customer support for both the Corvallis and Eugene areas, Kam places a high emphasis on quality, friendly and knowledgeable customer service. She is most often the first contact our customers receive, when beginning their move, and she stays with them until the end, always ready to help, with a positive and friendly attitude.
Bob first worked in the moving industry, as a helper, in 1968 at just 15 years of age. He joined the Bertsch crew in 1982 and worked as a local driver until 1986. In 2007, after retiring from a successful career with Oberson’s Oil, Bob re-joined the Bertsch team as an interstate driver for 5 years until being promoted to Warehouse Manager in 2013. Bob’s genuine kindness and sincerity has quickly made him a staff and customer favorite. He is always happy and willing to tackle any task that’s needed, and does so with skill and experience.
